Join me in my home town of Nottingham at the gorgeous Boyes Design for my favourite workshop to teach.
Most designers are never taught how to evaluate materials. This workshop gives you practical tools to make informed decisions with confidence.
Working hands-on with a wide collection of material samples, we’ll explore where materials come from, what they’re made of, and the stories they carry. Together, we'll build practical frameworks that help you evaluate materials with confidence and make more conscious decisions grounded in circular thinking.
This in-person workshop offers the chance to slow down, touch, compare, question, and discuss materials.
Perfect for designers, makers, interior designers, architects, students and anyone working with materials who wants to deepen their knowledge and build confidence in making more responsible material decisions.
You’ll leave with:
A clearer understanding of where materials come from and how they’re made
Practical ways to evaluate materials beyond buzzwords and surface-level claims
Simple frameworks for making more conscious, circular material choices
Greater confidence when talking about and selecting materials in your work
A renewed confidence and curiosity about the materials you specify and use.
Limited to 15 participants
Whether you're just beginning to think more critically about materials or looking to deepen your existing knowledge, this workshop will give you practical tools and fresh perspectives to support your work.
Discounts available for students and those on low income
